Report: Diamondbacks agree to two-year deal with Oliver Perez

The Diamondbacks reportedly augmented their bullpen on Friday afternoon, agreeing to terms on a two-year deal with free-agent southpaw Oliver Perez, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Perez, who battled control problems earlier in his career, reinvented himself as a reliever prior to the 2012 campaign, and has enjoyed considerable success over the past two seasons. Perez authored a 3.74 ERA over 61 appearances for the Mariners in 2013 while posting a 32.3 percent strikeout rate, the eleventh-highest mark among relievers.

Perez, who's held left-handed hitters to a .687 OPS throughout his career, will likely serve as Arizona's high-leverage southpaw this season.
