Report: Marlins sign RP Marmol to one-year deal

The Miami Marlins have reportedly added a veteran arm to their youthful bullpen.

Carlos Marmol fell out of favor (and fell hard) this season after losing his grip on the Chicago Cubs' closer role after seven-and-a-half seasons on the north side. He found moderate success when he resurfaced in Los Angeles, however.

In 21 appearances with the Dodgers late last season, Marmol shaved nearly a run-and-a-half off his ERA (2.53 in Tinsletown), with a sparkling K/9 inning rate of 11.4. Of course, he still walked nearly a batter an inning, but don't tell the Marlins.
