The Washington Nationals continue to add catching depth, agreeing to a minor-league deal with veteran Koyie Hill.
Hill, who turns 35 in March, has appeared in a limited role during his 10-year career. The former fourth round pick of the Dodgers in 2000 has never appeared in more than 83 games in a season and played in only 29 games over the last two years.
In 2013, the right-handed hitter played 18 games with the Marlins and batted .155/.183/.190 with 18 strikeouts. For his career, Hill is batting .206/.266/.287 with eight home runs and 76 RBI in 331 games.
He's expected to compete for a backup role behind Wilson Ramos.
