Report: Phillies agree to terms with OF Bobby Abreu

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports is reporting that the Philadelphia Phillies and free-agent outfielder Bobby Abreu are set for a reunion. 

Philadelphia was in search for a left-handed bat which led to their interest in the 39-year-old. Abreu last played in the majors in 2012 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 92 games, he batted .246/.361/.344 with eight doubles, three home runs and 19 RBI.

Abreu spent nine seasons with Philadelphia from 1998-2006 where he batted .303/.416/.513 with 195 home runs and 814 RBI. He currently ranks 95th on MLB's career games played list with 2,347.

Despite not playing in the majors last season, Abreu did spend the winter playing for Leones del Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League. In 50 games he hit .322/.416/.461 with 16 extra base hits and 28 RBI.
