The Nationals reportedly augmented their infield depth on Thursday, agreeing to a minor-league deal with veteran utilityman Jamey Carroll, according to Mark Zuckerman of CSNWashington .
Selected by the Montreal Expos in the fourteenth round of the 1996 draft, Carroll spent parts of three seasons with the now-defunct club, and logged 113 games with the Nationals during their inaugural season back in 2005. Carroll, who turns 40 in February, hit .211/.267/.251 with nine doubles over 73 games with the Twins and Royals in 2013.
