We've got action! No, seriously:

Terms of the deal haven't been announced. Jon Heyman and Ken Rosenthal are on vacation, we guess. Slackers.

Crain, 32, spent the 2013 season with the White Sox and Rays, though he didn't pitch after he was traded to Tampa Bay in late July, thanks to a shoulder injury. He had a ridiculous 18 ERA- in 36 2/3 innings of relief this past season in Chicago, and struck out 30 percent of batters he faced. He made his first All-Star game, too, and earned $4.5 million.

By all accounts, Crain is healthy:

Crain, who went to the University of Houston and has a home in the area, should be good to go "early in the season, if not before," said Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow, who added that the club won't rush him.

Crain spent the last three years with the White Sox, after signing with the club in December 2010, and pitched well. He had a 2.10 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 206 ERA+ in 150 innings of relief in Chicago. He struck out 176 and walked 65, and allowed only 12 home runs.

Crain's the latest addition to a pitching staff that was God-awful this past season:

On the bright side, they can't be much worse.
