Free-agent third baseman Eric Chavez is staying in Phoenix. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the two parties have reached an agreement on a new deal. Details haven't been disclosed.

Chavez, who turned 36 on December 7, has enjoyed two productive seasons in 2012 and 2013, with the  Yankees and Diamondbacks. Most importantly, he's been relatively healthy, playing 193 games over the past two years. That's, like, five-years worth of games for Chavez.
