Left-handed reliever J.P. Howell will remain in Dodger blue. The 30-year-old free agent has agreed to a two-year, $11.25-million deal to remain in Los Angeles, writes ESPN's Mark Saxon.

The deal includes a third-year option, and is pending a physical, which Howell will undergo on Thursday.

Saxon writes:

"Howell, 30, made $2.85 million last season after signing a one-year deal with the Dodgers. He had a 2.03 ERA in 62 innings for the Dodgers. Howell had been seeking a three-year deal. If he reaches 120 appearances over the next two seasons, the $6.25 million option for 2016 becomes a player option, according to reports."

Howell's 61 ERA- in 2013 was the second best of his career, and he's held left-handed hitters to a .634 OPS in his eight years in the majors.
