Corey Hart is a Mariner, my friends, and it's a wonderful day to be alive:
The one-year deal is worth a reported $6 million, but could reach $13 million with incentives.
Seattle will introduce Hart at a press conference on Friday afternoon. Jay Z will probably not be at this one.
The Mariners designated Travis Witherspoon for assignment to make room for Hart on the 40-man roster. Witherspoon, 24, was claimed by the Mariners off waivers from the Angels in October. He had a disappointing .641 OPS in 129 games at Double-A in 2013.
