Veteran reliever Ronald Belisario, who was non-tendered by the Dodgers on Monday, reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the White Sox on Thursday, according to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune.
Belisario, who posted a 3.97 ERA with a career-high 1.47 WHIP over 77 appearances last season, will reportedly earn $3 million in 2014. One of the foremost ground-ball specialists in the game, Belisario posted a 61.4 percent ground-ball rate in 2013, the fifth-highest mark among relievers.
Belisario also boasted one of the best home-run rates in the league last season, yielding just 0.40 long balls per nine innings. Belisario, whose sinker averaged nearly 96 mph last year, will turn 31 later this month.
