Report: Rockies, Morneau agree to terms on two-year deal
The Rockies appear to have found their successor to franchise icon Todd Helton, reportedly agreeing to terms on Tuesday night with first baseman Justin Morneau on a two-year deal, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.
Morneau, who earned $14 million last season, has regressed in recent years, as the 32-year-old hit 259/.323/.411 with 17 home runs over 152 games between the Twins and Pirates in 2013.
The 2006 American League MVP, Morneau suffered a concussion during game against the Blue Jays on July 7, 2010, and has struggled to regain his stroke in the years since. Morneau has managed a .256/.319/.406 line since the injury.
