Watch: Blue Jays' early-season misery summed up in 1 GIF

To say that the first month of the Toronto Blue Jays' season has been a dumpster fire is an insult to dumpster fires everywhere.

After consecutive trips to the American League Championship Series, the Blue Jays have started the 2017 campaign 7-17. Their best player, Josh Donaldson, is hurt, as are Troy Tulowitzki, J.A. Happ, and, as of a few moments ago, Aaron Sanchez. Jose Bautista entered Sunday's series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays with a .523 OPS, which is more than 70 points lower than Ryan Goins' career mark. Their bullpen has blown an MLB-worst eight saves, three of which can be charged to closer Roberto Osuna. And on top of all that, they're wearing heinous red jerseys every Sunday.

So, yes, Darwin Barney tumbling en route to first base after having a line-drive single snatched away from him, leaving Rays ace Chris Archer - a division-rival avatar, if you will - simply aghast at the ineptitude, is kind of the perfect signifier of the Blue Jays' season thus far.
