Watch: Trout saves Angels with 1st career extra-inning HR

Hard as it may be to believe, Mike Trout hadn't done it all on a baseball field until Tuesday night.

Trout came into the Los Angeles Angels' contest versus the Oakland Athletics having struggled in extra innings during his otherwise outstanding career. But he changed that in a hurry by taking Santiago Casilla deep to lead off the 10th inning at Angel Stadium of Anaheim for his sixth homer of 2017 - and his first career extra-inning home run.

While the 25-year-old superstar owns an outrageous .307/.406/.561 career slash line (not to mention 174 home runs and a .967 OPS that already ranks 14th on the all-time list), the lone blemish on Trout's resume, until Tuesday, had been his play in extra innings. He came into Tuesday's 10th inning just 13-for-52 (.250) with only four RBIs and four doubles over his career in the 10th and beyond.

Trout's historic blast re-tied the game at 1-1, and set the stage for Kole Calhoun's 11th-inning walk-off single that gave the Angels a 2-1 victory.
