Report: White Sox still listening to offers for Quintana

The questions surrounding Jose Quintana's future with the Chicago White Sox continue to swirl, as the club is reportedly still shopping the esteemed left-hander, sources told Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Quintana was the subject of offseason trade speculation, though talks regarding the 28-year-old seemingly died down once the White Sox dealt fellow southpaw Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox.

Passan notes the Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, and Pittsburgh Pirates as three clubs that have shown interest in acquiring Quintana.

Though he's established himself as one of the most consistent and top pitchers in MLB since his 2012 debut, Quintana may not fit Chicago's future plans. After trading Sale, the White Sox solidified their desire to proceed with a full-on rebuild, and capitalizing on Quintana's incredibly team-friendly contract - he's guaranteed just $15.85 million in 2017 and 2018 with club options in 2019 and 2020 - could prove too tempting for general manager Rick Hahn.

In 32 starts last season, Quintana crafted a 3.20 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, earning his first All-Star nomination. In five major-league seasons, the Colombian hurler owns a 3.41 ERA.
