Encarnacion looking to maintain 100-RBI streak with Indians

Edwin Encarnacion has set his number.

The former Toronto Blue Jays slugger reached the century mark in RBIs in four of the last five seasons (he fell two short in 2014). And after leading the American League in the category last season with 127, he wants to bring more of the same in his debut stint with the Cleveland Indians.

"My goal each season is to get 100," Encarnacion told Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com.

Of course, he doesn't plate runners by slapping singles and playing small ball. The 34-year-old has averaged 39 home runs per season since 2012, and manager Terry Francona believes, with a clean bill of health, he'll reach 100 RBIs for a third consecutive year, provided the rest of his teammates put him in position to do so.

"If he's healthy, you can write it in pen ... Edwin is so consistent," Francona said, according to Pluto. "He's going to solidify that No. 4 hole in the order. I hope we have a lot of guys on base when he comes up - because he'll do a lot of damage."
