Watch: Cubs fans sing 'Go Cubs Go' in Cleveland after Game 2

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Chicago Cubs fans travel well, and they are loud.

A large contingent of Cubs fans made the trip east on the I-90 to watch their team's first World Series games since 1945 at Cleveland's Progressive Field. When the North Siders won Game 2 by a score of 5-1 for the franchise's first victory since Oct. 8, 1945 - a span of 25,951 days - Cubs boosters celebrated with a boisterous rendition of "Go Cubs Go" above the visitors' dugout in the midst of a driving rainstorm.

"Go Cubs Go" was written by singer-songwriter and noted Cubs fan Steve Goodman in 1984, and is now played at Wrigley Field after every home win.

Goodman, who died of leukemia the same year he wrote "Go Cubs Go," also wrote the humorous song "A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request" several years earlier in which he lamented the team's history of losing. Given the Cubs are now three wins from their first title in 108 years, "Last Request" suddenly seems incredibly out of date.
