Watch: Scully makes his final call at Dodger Stadium
The illustrious 67-year career of broadcaster Vin Scully at Dodger Stadium came to an end Sunday evening, and it did so in tremendous fashion thanks to Charlie Culberson's walk-off home run, which secured a fourth straight National League West division title for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Scully, like he was known to do, made the call in legendary fashion, putting a cherry on top of his complimentary tale of Culberson with a line that will presumably be remembered forever.
"Now they don't care about the Padres and the Giants. Care not at all. And boy did it work out perfectly for the final home game of the regular season."
The 88-year-old Scully will also be remembered for some of the game's greatest calls, including the 715th home run of Hank Aaron's career, a perfect game by Sandy Koufax in 1965, and Kirk Gibson's dramatic World Series walk-off home run in 1988.
