Bartolo Colon added to the most prolific offensive season of his career Friday with his first multi-hit game in 14 years.

Colon, the popular right-hander who earlier this season became the oldest player in baseball history to hit his first career homer, starred on both sides of the diamond in New York's 9-4 victory over the Phillies. He notched a single, double, and six strikeouts over seven-plus innings to help the Mets win and keep pace in the playoff race.

Colon's fifth-inning double - his career-high second of the season - was ripped into the left-center gap, and had an impressive exit velocity of 102.7 mph according to Statcast. He also reached a top speed of 16 mph during his 10.74-second trot into second base.

"When I rounded first base, Ryan Howard asked me if I wanted any water, and I started laughing," Colon said. "When I got to second base, I started joking around with the guys, telling them that I don't know how I got two hits because I'm not a great hitter."

Colon's two-hit effort was his first since Aug. 9, 2002, when the veteran pitcher singled twice in a game as a member of the Expos.
