Red Sox analyst Remy struck by monitor in windy weather
Boston Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy was struck in the head by a monitor in the second inning and forced to leave the broadcast booth due to the windy conditions ravaging Fenway Park in Boston Saturday night.
The analyst was attended to by doctors after the incident and deemed OK, so much so that he will return Sunday for the series finale against the Minnesota Twins.
With a severe thunderstorm risk surrounding the Boston area, powerful wind gusts swept through Fenway during the club's contest against the Twins, with some reaching a reported 43 mph:
Remy has been with NESN as a color commentator for Red Sox games since 1988. A former second baseman, the one-time All-Star played seven seasons with Boston from 1978-84 after three seasons with the California Angels.
