Ortiz gets customized cowboy boots from Rangers

Texas Rangers / Twitter

The Texas Rangers didn't show a whole lot of southern hospitality to David Ortiz on Friday at Globe Life Park, where Elvis Andrus took a pair of base hits away from the retiring legend, but the club warmed up considerably Saturday evening.

With Ortiz taking his final swings in Arlington this weekend, the Rangers presented the beloved Boston slugger with a longhorn-themed belt and a pair of customized cowboy boots - embroidered with the Red Sox insignia and his nickname, 'Big Papi' - ahead of Saturday's evening affair.

Thanks to the Rangers, Ortiz - who recently lamented announcing his retirement ahead of the season - has the makings of a darn fine cowboy ensemble, having received a custom Stetson cowboy hat as a retirement gift from the Houston Astros back in April.
