Softball legend Jennie Finch is set to break barriers in baseball.

The University of Arizona product, and former Olympic gold medalist, will guest manage the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League on May 29, becoming the first female field manager in professional baseball history.

Finch will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

In September, the Oakland Athletics made history when they hired Justine Siegal to be the first female guest instructor during the 2015 instructional league. She was also the first woman to throw batting practice for a major-league team.

In 2009, Siegal also became the first female professional coach at any level when she served as the first-base coach for the Independent league Brockton Rox.
