Watch: Martin's HR drought ends with back-to-back jacks

Russell Martin can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

The Toronto Blue Jays catcher hit his first home runs of the 2016 campaign Wednesday against Ivan Nova of the New York Yankees.

Martin's initial home run was his first since Oct. 2, 2015 against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The backstop wasn't done, however, hitting his second dinger of the game in his very next at-bat against Yankees left-hander Chasen Shreve.

Martin, who hit 23 long balls for the Blue Jays last season, has been in the midst of a near two-month struggle, hitting .172/.243/.180 prior to Wednesday's contest.

Martin's 11th multi-homer game of his career brought smiles to a number of people on Toronto's bench, including manager John Gibbons.
