Mets welcome Cespedes back to lineup

Yoenis Cespedes, who's been out of the New York Mets' lineup for a week after having his leg drained, is starting and batting fourth for Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants.

Cespedes first hurt his right leg on April 13 diving into the stands for a foul ball. He then aggravated the injury while running the bases last week, and had fluid drained on Monday.

The 30-year-old did make one appearance while out of the starting lineup, and he made it a memorable one: He smacked a pinch-hit, game-tying three-run homer against Cincinnati on Tuesday.

Before the injury, Cespedes was starting to heat up after a cold first few weeks of 2016. He's sporting a .367/.424/1.033 line since April 15, and is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak, which includes Tuesday's pinch-hit blast.
