Like father, like son? Evidently so.
Luca Zidane, the son of Real Madrid and France icon Zinedine Zidane, was sent off in Real Madrid's U-19 match against Atletico Madrid for kicking an opponent, but then headbutted a player in the ensuing melee between the two rivals.
It's a story that reads very familiar to those who recall the 2006 FIFA World Cup final. Back then, the elder Zidane headbutted Italian defender Marco Materazzi and was shown a red card. Now, almost 10 years on, Zidane's son has taken on that mantle.
But when keeping his father's legendary headbutt in mind, Luca - who plays as a goalkeeper for Real Madrid's U-19 team - might feel a little hard done by as the referees called him for what looks like a minor transgression at best.
