Ronaldo describes Champions League final as 'fantastic night'

When everything was said and done, Cristiano Ronaldo was right where he wanted to be: standing in front of Real Madrid's supporters with his shirt off and celebrating the winning penalty kick.

Saturday's Champions League final may have not seen Ronaldo break his own record for most goals scored in a Champions League season, but it couldn't have been a more fitting end for the Portuguese maestro, as it was his shot in the penalty shootout that secured Real Madrid's 11th title at Atletico Madrid's expense.

In conversation with BT Sport, Ronaldo, speaking after the final whistle, didn't hesitate to refer to sum up the night as "fantastic."

"You know that the penalty is always a lottery," Ronaldo said, according to the Press Association. "You never know what's going to happen. But we showed that our team had most experience and we showed that we scored all the penalties so it was unbelievable - a fantastic night."

Next on Ronaldo's to-do list is Euro 2016, where he'll take the pitch for Portugal's national team in Group F, which also features Austria, Hungary, and Iceland.
