Ronaldo: Champions League final 'will define Real Madrid's season'

Cristiano Ronaldo has a very clear opinion about which Madrid side will emerge victorious from Saturday's Champions League final. Hint: you can probably guess this one.

The Portuguese attacker, who allayed fears that he was in danger of missing the contest against Atletico after leaving training on Tuesday with an apparent thigh problem, discussed his outlook on the encounter.

Not surprisingly, the ultra-confident forward was in an assured mood.

"We're on a good path. We finished La Liga well and we want to achieve a good victory on Saturday, which will define Real Madrid's season. We're confident we can achieve it," he said.

"A lot of the time experience is very important, and in this aspect we've got a small advantage. Atletico will be alert as a result of what happened two years ago and I hope the game will be different. Atletico will want to win but we are ready. We're going to play with intensity and I'm confident about a victory."

The contest, slated for Saturday at the San Siro in Milan, will serve as a rematch of the Champions League final from two years ago, when Real scored an injury-time equaliser before hitting three in extra time en route to a 4-1 victory and a 10th tournament title.
