Travelling fans banned from French football until mid-December

Football supporters in France will have to wait until mid-December before they're able to watch their team on the road.

The country has extended a ruling implemented after the Paris attacks to ban travelling supporters, French authorities announced Thursday, according to the Associated Press.

The French football league cited "a lack of availability of security forces under the emergency state" as one reason for extending the injunction. A climate change summit in Paris from Nov. 30-Dec. 11 will use a large number of security personnel.

The measure was originally instated in the country's various football leagues after the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, which saw 130 people lose their lives during assaults at the Stade de France during an international friendly match, and various locations in the French capital.
