VIDEO: Kevin De Bruyne is too good for Hull City's fancy defensive tricks

Already down 3-0 and playing out the final minutes of Tuesday's Capital One Cup quarterfinal against Premier League powerhouse Manchester City, Hull City was determined to limit the damage on the scoreboard.
In theory, having a defender on the line to add an extra obstacle alongside Eldin Jakupovic seems like a clever plan to thwart a free-kick. In reality, Kevin De Bruyne exists and renders such tactics useless.
Not that the Championship club should feel too bad about being dominated by the Belgian midfielder, it's been happening to almost every team this season:
The perfectly placed free-kick, De Bruyne's second goal of the contest, helped the Citizens claim a commanding 4-1 victory and, subsequently, a spot in the League Cup semifinals.
