Luis Suarez denies trying to bite Martin Demichelis: 'He put his hand on my throat'

After notching a brace to give Barcelona a commanding advantage in their Round-of-16 Champions League tie versus Manchester City on Tuesday, Luis Suarez is once again facing accusations of cannibalistic tendencies.

Television footage showed Suarez moving his face toward Martin Demichelis as the Argentine extended his right arm at the Uruguayan forward in the second half. However, there was no clear evidence of a biting attempt.

In conversation with Uruguayan radio station Sport 890, Suarez denied the accusations and didn't hesitate to take a swipe at the English media, claiming they're hurt over the two goals he scored against England in the group stage of the World Cup.

"He (Demichelis) put his hand on my throat," Suarez said, according to the Guardian. "I do not understand why they (the English media) want to do this. They want to make trouble for me. They must be hurt after what I did to them in the World Cup but they forget that I played in England and they should show me some respect."

Judge for yourself, but the footage certainly clears Suarez of any wrongdoing.
