Former NFLer Chad Johnson signs 2-year deal with CFL's Alouettes

Former NFL receiver Chad Johnson is headed to the CFL.

"Chad did an outstanding job in the last three days," Alouettes general manager Jim Popp said after Johnson's two-year deal was made official. "It was a total evaluation and he's a good fit.

"[Chad] is very happy and excited to be on the field again and we're happy to welcome him to the Alouettes."

Johnson, 36, last played in 2011, when he appeared in 15 games for the New England Patriots. 

Over the course of his 11-year NFL career, Johnson caught 766 passes for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns.
